The Basement Surge Returns — On Our Own Terms

When we first cracked open the mic for The Basement Surge, we didn’t know what would come of it. Back then, it was just an idea — a couple of guys sitting in a basement, shooting the breeze about the things that make us laugh, rant, rage, and reminisce. It was raw, unfiltered, and for a while, it was exactly what we all needed.

People tuned in. They laughed with us — and sometimes at us — and before we knew it, The Basement Surge wasn’t just a side hobby. It was a community. A place where nostalgia met nonsense, where comic books and bad impressions collided with genuine conversations about real life, real struggles, and real joy.

But here’s the truth — and if you’ve ever listened to us, you know we’ve never been the type to sugarcoat it: life happens. Families grow. Jobs demand more. Priorities shift. The basement doesn’t close, but sometimes the lights flicker off while you handle what really matters upstairs.

So yes, we stepped back. The mics got dusty, the schedule got quiet, and the Surge went dormant — but not gone. Never gone.

Now, we’re back. When we can be. And we’re perfectly okay with that.

Not Full Time — Full Honesty

A lot of creators chase this myth that you’ve got to be “all in” or nothing at all. That if you’re not grinding 24/7, uploading daily, churning out content like an assembly line, you’re failing your audience.

We say: screw that.

Here’s the thing — we love The Basement Surge. We love the ridiculous stories, the side-splitting memories, the “did-we-just-say-that?” moments. But we’re also grown men with families who need us more than the basement ever will. We’re fathers, husbands, friends, and employees with bills to pay, kids to raise, partners to love, and day jobs that keep the lights on above and below ground.

So no, you’re not getting a weekly drop. You’re not getting a polished machine of algorithms and “optimized content calendars.” What you’re getting is real — whenever we can. When life gives us a breather, the basement light flips back on. When we’re free to crack open a cold one, hit record, and let it rip — you’ll hear it. And trust us, it’ll be worth the wait.

New Friends, New Chaos

What’s different this time? Well, some things never change. You’ll still get the same sarcastic rants, the off-the-rails tangents, the “how-did-we-even-get-here?” kind of episodes. But you’ll hear new voices, too.

Over the years, we’ve met some incredible people — weirdos, geniuses, storytellers, troublemakers, and new friends who’ve got stories worth telling. When we flip that mic on, it won’t just be the old crew. We’re bringing new people into the basement. New perspectives. New arguments. New laughs. And maybe a few new beers to spill on the soundboard.

Same Nostalgia, New Stories

You know what to expect from us. The 90s rants aren’t going anywhere. The old-school games, the comic book deep dives, the wrestling references that only half of you understand — they’re all here to stay.

But life’s moved on, and so have we. We’ve got fresh scars and fresh stories. Parenthood. Work. Life hacks that don’t work. Rants about the everyday grind. The stupid stuff that makes us human and the honest moments that remind you it’s okay to laugh at how messy it all is.

The Basement Surge is still about us hanging out — and you hanging out with us. You never know what you’re gonna get. We sure don’t.

No Schedule — No Pressure — No Bull

We’re not promising a strict upload schedule, because we’d break that promise before the ink dried. What we are promising is that when an episode drops, it’ll be 100% The Basement Surge. No filler. No phoning it in. If we’re gonna hit record, it’s because we have something to say — and we want to say it with you in the room.

Sometimes it’ll be a full-length rant. Sometimes it’ll be a quick ten-minute “hey, we’re still alive” check-in. Maybe it’ll be a bonus clip with a new friend. Maybe it’ll be an old friend stopping by to drop a bombshell story you never saw coming.

It’s our basement. It’s our rules. And it’s your hangout — whenever you find us down there.

Family First, Always

If you take nothing else away from this: we’re not here to pretend. We’re not here to sacrifice the best parts of life — family dinners, soccer games, bedtime stories, lazy Sundays — for likes and shares.

We’re here to keep The Basement Surge alive in the best way possible: by keeping ourselves alive, sane, and surrounded by the people who matter most. That’s the real surge — the one that happens when you step away from the mic, hug your kids, kiss your spouse, pay your bills, and remember that the world is bigger than a podcast.

And when that’s handled, when life gives us a break, we’re back in the basement with a cold one and a hot take — ready to make you laugh, roll your eyes, or spit your drink out at whatever nonsense we’re ranting about this time.

So, Should You Subscribe Again?

HELL YEAH!!. If you’ve been with us from day one, you know we never lie to you. We’re not gonna sell you on a comeback tour we can’t deliver. What we are delivering is the same raw, ridiculous, real basement banter — whenever the real world lets us.

Subscribe. Follow. Turn on the notifications if you want to be the first to know when the lights flicker on and the mics are hot. You’ll get new episodes, new voices, and the same old spirit that brought you here in the first place.

The basement’s door is always unlocked — you just gotta wait for the light to turn on. And when it does, we hope you’ll pull up a chair, crack one open, and feel right at home.

Feel the Surge — When You Least Expect It

So that’s the deal. The Basement Surge is back — not because we have to be, but because we want to be. Not because an algorithm says we should upload every Tuesday at 7 p.m., but because sometimes you just need to gather your people, talk your nonsense, and share it with the world.

When that happens, you’ll be the first to know. Until then, take care of your family, do your job, hug your people, and remember: the basement is always here, waiting for the next Surge.

See you when we see you — and as always… Feel the Surge.
